Every year, Burlington holds what they claim is "Canada's Largest Ribfest Festival". There are rib vendors, beer vendors, other festival vendors (barbecued corn, barbecued potatoes, funnel cakes, elephant ears, etc), and festival craft vendors. The rib vendors often try to outdo each other with the number of trophies they have on display. I haven't been able to taste much of a difference between the ribs, but perhaps someone with a more discerning rib palette may.

It is worth noting that the festival is put on by the rotary club, which is a non-profit organization that engages in many worthwhile causes, such as eliminating polio.

This year, I was pleased to see there was a recycling and compost tent. Dedicated volunteers will sift through all your garbage, removing the recyclables and material that can be composted (such as rib bones), and put them in appropriate piles. I'm sure this greatly reduces the amount of garbage generated by the festival.
