Overall Experience: 9 / 10

This performance of Handel's Messiah took place at Roy Thomson Hall, and was performed by the Toronto Symphony Orchestra and the Toronto Mendelssohn Choir. It was the first time I had seen Handel's Messiah, and I enjoyed it. The performance was approximately 2.5 hours, with a 15-minute intermission after the first part.

The performance itself had both interesting and boring parts. I thought all the solo vocalists were boring and lacked energy, but that's compared to the choir parts of the performance, which I thought were excellent. I found myself bored by the segments that just consisted of soloists, waiting for the energy that the choir always delivered.

As is customary (according to Wikipedia), everyone stood for the "Hallelujah Chorus" part of the performance. I was slightly disappointed with that segment. It was excellent, but it just didn't seem to have the amount of energy that I was anticipating.
