The Roman Theater in Lyon is a free historical site located next to the Museum of Gallo-Roman Civilization. The theaters have been restored so that during some parts of the summer, concerts are held here. The remainder of the time, visitors are free to wander around the site.

The site actually contains two theaters - a larger theater shown here, and a smaller theater right beside it. The displays in the museum show how what remains here is only a fraction of the original theater. There is a small park in front of the theaters that can be nice to walk through. It is part of a path that leads back to the main city of Lyon.

There are a couple informational displays that have information about the theater ruins. Information is presented in both English and French.

Cost

The roman theater ruins are a free attraction (when there are not shows being performed here).

Estimated Visiting Time

Visitors should allow 30 minutes to walk around the site.
