The Seattle Aquarium is an aquarium located on one of the piers on the west side of Seattle. It was a pretty average aquarium. It was on the small side of average, although it looked like they were doing some renovations and enlarging some of the animal habitats. The aquarium has most of your standard aquarium water animals, although there were no big tanks for whales/dolphins, and no live shows. The first building had a ray petting area, fish tanks, and an octopus. The second area was mostly outdoors and had small enclosures for otters and seals (pictured below).

Cost

Admission was $18/person for adults.

Getting There

We parked at a nearby parking lot at a rate of $20/day. There is probably cheaper parking available in the area. Seattle's Pike Place Market is also located nearby (within walking distance).

Estimated Visiting Time

We spent about two hours going through the museum, and I thought we saw everything at a fairly leisurely pace. We stopped to talk to a couple of the volunteers/employees about the exhibits, and saw one of the animal feedings. There are feedings going on throughout the day, but we only managed to see one of them.
