Perry Street is a casual fine dining restaurant in the West Village. It is located right on the Hudson, so it is a bit out of the way to get to from the subway.

The fixed-price lunch menu offers two main dishes of your choice and a dessert for $26. The food is all very good. Although the dishes are a bit smaller than usual, in the end it is a very filling lunch.

The restaurant has a very modern, polished feel. It is quite bright at lunch with floor to ceiling windows all around.

Dress

Smart casual - jeans and a nice shirt are ok for lunch.

$26 fixed price lunch - 2 dishes and a dessert

Service

The service is very professional.

Reservations

Reservations may be difficult to get, but there were lots of empty tables while we were there for lunch.

Items Ordered

Homemade Sodas

Passion fruit and Chili, Lemon Thyme
Cost:$5 each

The homemade sodas were really good. They were not too bubbly or sweet. The passion fruit soda had a slight spice to it from the chili. The lemon thyme had a very fresh lemon taste with a hint of thyme in the after taste.

House made Burrata

Grapes, Chervil and Olive Oil
Cost:$26 fixed price lunch

Burrata is a fresh Italian cheese made with an outer layer of fresh mozzarella and filled with fresh ricotta on the inside. The cheese ball was delicious, but I felt like it was too much for one serving. At least I could have used more bread. The toast was delicious and flavored with herbs and the olive oil. The grapes were an interesting combination with the cheese. They were covered in some kind of spiced salt.

Fried Eggs and Smoked Bacon

Asparagus and Sourdough Croutons
Cost:$26 fixed price lunch

The eggs could have been cooked a little longer, but overall it was a great combination. I've never thought about putting croutons together with eggs. It's kind of like a crunchy bread that soaks up all the liquid from the eggs. There was a decent amount of bacon that added a good flavor to the egg.

Char-Griled Cheeseburger

Russian Dressing and Crispy Onions
Cost:$26 fixed price lunch

This is one of the best burgers I have ever had. That may have been because of the dressing. It added a great flavor to the burger. The burger was a little undercooked for what I asked (well done). There was one onion ring on the burger, some lettuce, a slice of tomato, and a pickle. The fries were disappointingly plain.

Grilled Beef Hanger Steak

Plum Mustard, Mustard Greens, and Crunchy Potatoes
Cost:$26 fixed price lunch

The Hanger steak was delicious. The meat itself had a great juicy flavor. The plum sauce was good with the meat. It was just a little bit sweet. The crunchy potato was really yummy - I wished there was more than one of them. I couldn't eat the mustard greens - it was too bitter for my taste.

Chocolate Lava Cake

Cost:$26 fixed price lunch

The chocolate lava cake was a typical lava cake. The inside was soft and warm. The cake just melt in your mouth with flavor. The ball of vanilla ice cream was also very good, with a flake of crispy caramel on top and some crushed nuts on the bottom.

Banana Layered Cake

Cost:$26 fixed price lunch

I don't remember what the name of this cake was, but it was delicious. It was kind of like a Tiramisu cake with banana instead of a coffee flavor. It came with a ball of dark chocolate ice cream.
