Ollie's Noodle Shop and Grille is a Chinese-style restaurant located in New York City at Broadway and 68th street. The restaurant is quite large. It has a takeout section in the front (with some tables and chairs), and the main dining area is on two floors in the back.

I think the best feature of the restaurant is how affordable everything is. The food is of reasonable quality, and it's priced relatively cheaply. Their menu is quite extensive.

Dress

Very casual

Cost

Most items are in the $10-$13 range. They are fairly large, so ordering one item per person is plenty. If you are smaller eaters, you may be able to order slightly less.

Service

Reasonable.

Reservations

I don't think they take reservations. There always seems to be a short wait. The earlier you arrive, the shorter the wait will be.

Items Ordered

Fried rice

Fried rice (with shrimp; chicken, pork, beef, and veggies also available)
Cost:$7.95

We ordered our fried rice with shrimp. It was a pretty good fried rice. We found that one order of this rice was sufficient for everyone at the table to share.

Lemon Chicken (Fried)

Cost:$11.25

The lemon chicken was a bit disappointing. The chicken itself was not bad - it was battered and fried (like fried chicken should be). However, the lemon sauce was weird. It didn't really taste like lemon. The sauce was yellow with a slightly more liquid consistency than jello. Rather than tasting lemony, it just tasted like sugar.

Chicken with broccoli in garlic sauce

Cost:$10.95

I thought the chicken and broccoli was the best option we picked. Although the menu said it had a spicy star next to it, it wasn't spicy at all. The chicken and broccoli were both pretty tasty with the garlic sauce that was on them.

Sliced pork with eggplant

Cost:$10.05

The sliced pork with eggplant was also very good. The eggplant was nice and soft. The pork was pretty good, too. This dish also had a very flavorful sauce (but not spicy). The sauce on most of the dishes was very salty, and this one was no exception.
