Mix Lounge is located on the 64th floor of THEhotel at Mandalay Bay. It is an excellent place to visit. The view from the observation area is spectacular, especially at night. Why pay to go up Stratosphere Tower when you can visit Mix Lounge and get a great view for free (if you go before 10pm)? The drinks are quite expensive however, so you may not pay to go to up to the lounge, but you'll pay handsomely for the drinks. (Although there is no pressure to buy anything)

Mix Lounge is divided into two different areas - a "black area" and a "white area". The lounge and bar is in the black area, while the restaurant is located in the white area. The decorating and color scheme is simple, but elegant.

The bar area is quite nice, but there is also lot of table and seating areas inside that are not reserved for VIP. Later in the evening there is also live DJ music, and there is a small dance floor inside, but the music is more for lounging than dancing.

There is an outdoor viewing area in the black part of Mix Lounge. If you go before 10:00 pm, the whole area is open, but after 10:00 pm, the majority of the viewing area is closed off for a private VIP area. The views are really great, as can be seen by the pictures here.

THEHotel from the white area in Mix Lounge

Be sure to take a look in the bathrooms (both men and women) at The Mix. They're located in the "black area" (although there are also bathrooms located in the "white" area). Each stall is like its own private room, and the toilet faces a wall of window. These toilets have an excellent view! (There are attendants in the bathroom that hand you towels and other items. If you use their products, you should leave a tip.)

If you walk through the white area, be sure to look back at the observation area - there is a nice view of the "THEHotel" sign.

Cost

Going up THEHotel at Mandalay Bay to Mix is free if you go before 10:00 pm, otherwise there is a $20/person charge. THEHotel guests can go up free at any time. Mixed drinks are approximately $15 each, while beers are around $7 each.

Dress

"Chic Casual" - jeans and a nice button shirt is fine for guys.

The Pink Goose is a fruity mixed drink. It still tastes like alcohol, but the sweet flavor hides the alcohol taste fairly nicely.
