Luzia's is a Portuguese restaurant in the upper west side of Manhattan. Like many restaurants in the area, they offer brunch. We visited them because they looked busy, but not so busy that there was a wait.
I was quite disappointed with the quality of food they offered. It definitely tasted "cheap", and some of the brunch items were almost inedible.
Dress
Very casual.
Cost
Fairly affordable; most brunch options were around $10
Service
Service was typical.
Items Ordered
Cappuccino
The cappuccino I ordered here was ok, but certainly not one of the best ones I've had.
Crepes with Ham, Mushrooms & cheese
These crepes were a big disappointment. They were mostly full of processed cheese, and that really detracted from the quality of the crepe. The cheese had a funny taste, and made the whole crepe taste "sour".
We were really hoping the crepes here would be similar to Dutch pancakes (such as the ones at Pannenkoekenhuis de Schaapsbel), but were really disappointed in their quality. We didn't end up finishing the crepes because they tasted too weird.
Bacon & Eggs with Roasted Potatoes
The bacon and eggs was a pretty typical bacon and eggs. The eggs were ordered once over easy. They were overdone, but still tasted like eggs. The bacon was pretty good, as bacon usually is. It was cooked just the right amount.
The eggs were also served with a couple pieces of fruit, toast, and potatoes. The toast was a Portuguese white bread. The potatoes were quite plain - they were very lightly seasoned, but definitely needed more flavor.
