The Fremont Street Experience is what Fremont Street has become to keep it as an active gambling and tourist destination. This area also offers some of the cheapest novelty drinks in Las Vegas. This is also where you can get free beaded necklaces. A four-block section of Fremont Street has been converted into a pedestrian street. The main attraction is definitely the light show, which occurs every hour (on the hour) in the evenings. The entire street is covered with a huge TV screen that contains more than 12 million lights. The overhead "TV canopy" is really huge - it's something you can't appreciate without seeing it.

Getting There

Since Fremont Street is located so far away from the main Las Vegas Strip, you need a plan for getting there. Don't walk - there are some sketchy neighborhoods along the way. You can take a taxi, drive to the new parking garage they have built (at the east end of the Fremont Street Experience), or take The Deuce.

This is a free attraction.

Other Attractions

There are a large number of street performers, artists, and vendors who sell things. When we visited, there were three crazy guys who rode motorbikes inside the metal sphere (pictured here) - without crashing. I was impressed at their coordination. It looked quite dangerous, but they've probably been doing it successfully for awhile.
