The Everest Cafeteria is a restaurant in the Old City of Jerusalem. After we arrived and sat down, a waiter came over and asked what we wanted to eat (there was no menu). I thought that was a bit weird. I'm not sure if he spoke English or not, since we had Hebrew-speaking people in the group. They did all the ordering.

From what I understand, they offer offer shwarma and falafels either in pitas, or not in pitas. Take your pick.

Cost

I thought the restaurant was overpriced. We specifically ate here since we thought it would be cheaper than a nicer restaurant with better views, but in the end, it worked out to be approximately the same price. That's the main reason for the poor rating for this restaurant. The food was all good, but it wasn't worth what we paid for it.

Items Ordered

As I mentioned, there was no menu, so unfortunately, there isn't any breakdown of prices available. When we asked our server for the bill, he just wrote "160" on a piece of paper and handed it to us. So, the total for the items we ordered was 160 NIS.

We ordered a plate of salad, a plate of hummus, a plate of shwarma, two plates of falafels, and four glasses of freshly squeezed juice (orange juice, and grapefruit juice). The glasses of juice were very small. We were also brought tahini, hot suace, pickles and pitas.

The shwarma was quite good, and had a nice barbecue flavor. Everything else was OK to pretty good; there was nothing note worthy about anything.
