China Town in New York City is a great place to visit. There are lots of street vendors selling everything from fruits, fish, and purses, to pet turtles and $4 DVDs (of questionable legality). All the signs in the area are in Chinese, so you feel a bit like you're in a different country. If you're a visible minority in the area, everyone will know you're a tourist, and they'll try to get you to buy things from their stores.

Unlike Little Italy (which is also located in the area), China Town doesn't have defined boundaries. It always seems to grow and spread out. Most of China Town spreads around Canal street.

Estimated Visiting Time

It's fun to spend 15-20 minutes walking around in the area. This will give you enough time just to see what it's like there. If you plan on doing any shopping, allow more time.
