The Brooklyn Bridge is a bridge that connects lower Manhattan with Brooklyn. The top part of the bridge is shared between pedestrians and cyclists. On a nice sunny day, lots of people walk across the bridge into Brooklyn.
The other side of the bridge is near an area called DUMBO. It's a bit of an "artsy" area that is undergoing some development (so hopefully it will grow to be a nicer area).
On the bridge, each of the pillars has a fairly large pedestrian platform where visitors can stand, take pictures, and admire the view of the city.
Cost
There is no charge for walking across the Brooklyn Bridge.
Estimated Visiting Time
It takes between 15-30 minutes to cross the bridge on foot (depending on how fast you walk). Allow some additional time if you want to take a lot of pictures.
