Bistro 333 is a restaurant located in downtown Toronto's theater district. They have a small outdoor patio, a bar, and a nicely decorated interior. Their menu is quite varied. We ordered a few different bar-style foods to share. We were fairly disappointed in the quality of the food considering the price. The restaurant looked quite nice, but the food was pretty low quality.

The restaurant has a nightclub on the second floor, Club Menage. On the evening we were here, we received free entrance to the nightclub with our dinner (we didn't have to pay the cover charge that is normally charged to men). After dinner we just went straight upstairs, avoiding the ID check/cover charge lineup. The music started at 10p (we could hear it in the restaurant), and we went up shortly after.

Cost

Most entrees are around $20.

Dress

Casual, although some people were dressed up a little.

Parking

There is a parking lot right next to the restaurant that was $10 when we were there. There is also street parking and several other lots for a fee.

Items Ordered

Bread and Dipping Oil

Cost:Free

The bread that was brought out was a plain white bread. There was nothing special about it. It came out with butter and a plate of oil and vinegar. I found the vinegar flavor was too strong to enjoy. The bread was also a bit dry.

Bistro 333 Quesadilla

12" Flour Tortilla filled with Roma tomatoes, onions, basil, garlic, cheddar and feta served with sour cream and salsa
Cost:$12.95

Of all the items we ordered, I think this was the best. The quesadilla was slightly above average. I really liked the tomatoes in the filling. It was a decent size (4 large pieces), and tasted great.

Bistro 333 Platter

Coconut tiger shrimps, mild buffalo chicken, bruschetta, spring rolls and lemon pepper fried calamari served with a mango chutney and lemon garlic dip
Cost:$34.95

The platter is quite large, and there is quite a selection of foods. Unfortunately, they weren't all very good. The buffalo chicken was not the greatest quality chicken, and I found it to be a bit chewy. The bruschetta was a big disappointment. Nobody wanted to finish it. The bread it was on was some kind of pita/flat bread that just didn't go very well as a bruschetta. The tomatoes on top weren't anything special either. I didn't think they were even marinated.

The spring rolls were pretty good, but tasted like any typical frozen spring rolls. I did like the sauces they were served with. The calamari didn't taste at all like fish. It was just a nice vehicle for the fried batter. The shrimp had a nice sweet flavor, and were battered in coconut before being fried. I really enjoyed them.

Nacho Supreme

Crisp nacho chips smothered in ground beef, mixed cheeses, jalapenos, lettuce, diced tomatoes and served with sour cream and salsa
Cost:$12.95

The nacho platter was a fairly typical nacho platter you get at any bar. I wasn't too fond of the large ground beef chunks. Otherwise, there is really nothing much to say about it. It was good, but nothing special.
