Big Shot at the Stratosphere

The Big Shot thrill ride on top of the Stratosphere Tower is the highest thrill ride in the world. After riding up the Stratosphere Tower, there is a second elevator on the observation deck that takes you up to the outdoor platform area where the Big Shot ride is located.

I was going to use the video feature on my camera to make a video of the ride, but after walking out on the deck at the top of the Stratosphere, I lost all nerve. It's windy up there!

The view from this ride is absolutely spectacular. You can easily see all of Las Vegas. The ride is simply a tower that you go up and down while strapped into a seat. It starts from the stationary position, and shoots you up to the top of the tower. From there, you "bounce" from the top to the bottom a couple times, before settling back down at the bottom. It's really not that bad of a ride, but placing it on top of the tower makes it unique and thrilling.

Cost

A one-time ride on the Big Shot is $16.95. (This includes admission up the tower). Discounts are available if you go on multiple rides - $20.95 for two rides, or $24.95 for three rides.
