Baltimore Inner Harbor

Overall Experience: 7 / 10
Date Visited: Saturday, September 3, 2011

The Baltimore Inner Harbor will probably be the focal point for any tourist's visit to Baltimore. It is a large and very nicely developed waterfront - one of the most attractive I have seen anywhere in the world, and comparable to Cape Town's V&A Waterfront.

The waterfront has a large number of large American chain restaurants and big box stores, and is heavily commercialized. It has a large and modern Visitor's Center, which is where the Heritage Walk starts and ends. It is also home to a number of museums, including the National Aquarium, and a science center. The area feels quite safe since there is often a large police presence (even in the evening).
