The Ali'i Kula Lavender Farm is a lavender farm in Maui. If you love lavender, then this attraction is something you will definitely need to check out. Reservations are required, so call ahead to book your place on a tour. When we visited, we were able to book one day in advance without any problems (we were planning to visit on Mothers Day, and thought it may be busy).
When you arrive, there is a "check in" desk inside the gift shop where you pay for your tickets.
There is a portable bathroom available for visitors on site. It isn't the cleanest, but it will do in an urgent situation.
The tour meets in front of the gift shop. The tour lasts approximately 30 minutes, and is lead by a guide who tells you a bit about many of the plants that are growing in the gardens. The guide may snip a few flowers off different plants for each group member, so by the end of the tour, you have a small beautifully scented bouquet to take with you.
The lavender farm offers a number of tours each day. After your tour, you can stop by the Ali'i Kula Lavender Cafe for a snack.
Cost
We paid a total of $62.50 for a group of 6 people. We may have gotten a small discount because we were in a group - tickets are $12 per person, otherwise.
Tour Times
When we visited, tours of the farm were available at 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 1:00p, and 2:30p.
Parking
There is plenty of free parking available at the lavender farm.
Dress
The lavender farm is located at an altitude of 1.2km. It's definitely cooler a bit up the mountain than it is down by the beaches. I would recommend bringing a long sleeved shirt, since it is cooler at this altitude. If you're generally a hot person, you'll still be fine in shorts and a t-shirt.
