The Keg
Burlington, Ontario, Canada
Burlington, Ontario, Canada
905-681-1810
The patio was a bit noisy since it faces the highway. Also there were people smoking on the patio making it difficult to enjoy your food.
The inside looked quite nice but also very dark.
Cost
Appetizers are around $10
Steaks (main course) range from $21-$31
Dress
Really anything goes, but you might feel more comfortable in pants or nice jeans, as the interior looks moderately upscale.
Items Ordered
Grilled Top Sirloin
Considered the most flavorful steakThe keg size steak (shown here) is 12 oz. of goodness. It comes with a side of potato (either baked, garlic mashed, or french fries), and a tomato slice. The steak itself is quite good. While it’s not the best steak I’ve ever had, it is hard to complain, as it is very well done. It was cooked to perfection, and was very flavorful.
The garlic mashed potatoes are very good – it is hard to screw them up.
The tomato is served hot, with a few shavings of cheese on top.
Trio Sampler
Steamed asparagus, sautéed mushrooms, and Szechwan green beansC: The steak didn’t come with any vegetables (with the exception of a small tomato slice), so we decided to add the trio sampler to the meal. The Szechwan beans were very spicy, but had a pleasant taste. The asparagus was quite plain.
A: The beans were too spicy. The mushrooms were very good. The asparagus was plain.
Birthday Cake
As we were dining on a birthday, we received a complimentary slice of ice cream cake. The cake was coffee flavored, and served with warm chocolate sauce. It was quite good.
