Schmagels Bagels & Deli is located in the historic district in St. Augustine. They are open for breakfast and lunch offering bagels, different styles of sandwiches, and salads. The shop is quite small, but there are several tables inside and outside.
Since Schmagel's Bagels is located in the historic district, you have a nice view of the street if you're sitting outside. Part of the outdoor seating area is also covered, in case of rain.
Bagels start at 70 cents. With a spread, they cost more (probably less than $2). Sandwiches are around $6.
Very casual - shorts and a T-shirt is fine.
You place your order and pay for your food at the counter, then pick a seat and your food is brought out to you. When you're done, throw out the garbage, and put your trays on top of the garbage bin.
This was a typical pretty good toasted bagel. It came with spread your own Philadelphia light cream cheese.
This was another pretty good toasted bagel, but with a green olive cream cheese. I really liked the green olives mixed in with the cream cheese. My only complaint was that there was too much cream cheese, but I could easily scrape off the excess with a knife. I think some people may prefer to have lots of cream cheese, so this way you have the option.
