There are several companies that offer a river cruise on the Zambezi river, with sunset being one of the most popular times of day to take the cruise. We sailed on a boat named "Wa Nuka" on a tour operated by Dingani Tours. Our tour was booked for us by our travel agent in advance, however, there were many local travel agents at the hotels and in the town of Victoria Falls booking river cruise rides.

We were picked up at our hotel (the Victoria Falls Safari Lodge) along with 10 other companies all doing the same thing. We all went to the same docks but boarded different boats. The Wa Nuka was comparable to the other boats. The boat had about 10 tables, each with about 6 seats. The boat also had an open bar and a wait staff that brought our drinks and passed around light snacks. The snacks ranged from peanuts to sausage rolls and fish sticks.

The tour lasted approximately 2 hours and traveled on the quiet part of the Zambezi river a long distance away from Victoria Falls. The cruise offered some great animals sighting. On our ride we saw 2 crocodiles, a few different groups of hippos and an elephant drinking from the river. The boat was fairly quiet and cruised along smoothly.

The sunset was very beautiful and we had plenty of time to enjoy it before heading back to the docks. Finally, we were picked up and returned to our hotel by the same bus driver.
