Watkins Glen State Park is a beautiful NY state park located in the town of Watkins Glen. The park features a large gorge, with pathways on either side of it beautifully landscaped to make it easy for walking.

The landscaping really makes this park - the path takes you behind waterfalls, over bridges, and presents some very nice views of the gorge.

None of our group went into this park with any expectations, so we were all very pleasantly surprised at how nice the park was.

Estimated Visiting Time

We spent about 2 hours hiking the main loop at the park. We didn't quite go to the end (since we heard there was a ton of stairs there, and it was a hot and sticky day). The distance isn't all that long, but there are a fair amount of stairs and hills.

Cost

There was a nominal parking fee of $8; otherwise the trail is free. There is a shuttle bus that also has a small fee associated with it (but we didn't take it, so I'm not sure what that is)
