Seating:Outdoor patio

Trattoria Scavolino is a restaurant located on a small street about a block away from the Trevi Fountain. The street is full of restaurants, and is a bit quieter than the main streets leading towards the fountain. Both indoor and outdoor seating was available, although most people outside were smoking. Overall, we were a bit disappointed in the food we had here - possibly because the items we ordered were too similar. Everything seemed very plain.

Dress

Quite casual - I think most people who go here are tourists.

Cost

Pastas are around 10€, while main courses range from 10€ - 20€.

Service

The menu was translated in several languages, and the staff also spoke English. There were a couple musical performers who came by over dinner to perform and ask for money.

Items Ordered

Zuppa di verdure

Vegetable Soup
Cost:€7

The vegetable soup was probably the best item we ordered. There were lots of different vegetables in the soup, as well as rice and beans. There was still a lot of broth compared to the vegetables.

Caprese Salad

tomato and mozzarella salad
Cost:€8

The caprese salad was also quite good - the mozzarella was very moist. Little jars of olive oil and vinegar were brought out so we could add them to the salad. There was a lot more cheese than tomato, but it was still a pretty good salad.

Gnocchi alla Sorrentina

gnocchi with tomato and mozzarella
Cost:€10

The gnocchi was a very simple dish - it was just gnocchi with some tomato sauce, a couple basil leaves, and a few pieces of gummy mozzarella cheese. It was quite disappointing.

Spaghetti alla Bolognese

in bologna style
Cost:€8

The spaghetti was also very plain - there just wasn't much to it. The sauce had a tiny bit of meat in it, but otherwise it was a very plain spaghetti dish with some tomato sauce on it.

Tiramisu

The tiramisu had some nice cream, and was tasty, but it was far from the best tiramisu I've had. It was served in an individual sized bowl.
