The Thimble Islands tour boat

Stony Creek is a very small town inside the town of Branford, CT. One of the things to do in Stony Creek (possibly the only thing?) is to take a boat tour of the Thimble Islands. The "Thimble Islands Cruise" company has a boat that they use to give tours a number of times each day.

The boat is a small two-level boat. They have a small bar on board where they sell beer, wine, and other beverages. The water around the islands is usually quite calm, so there isn't much risk of sea sickness.

The tour lasts 45 minutes, and takes you around a number of the islands. The captain of the boat narrates the tour, and tells guests some interesting facts about the islands that you're passing. A number of the islands now have expensive houses on them - those were neat to see.

The tour costs $10, cash only. The fee is collected near the end of the tour while you're still out on the water. They delivered the best joke of the tour during this time - "If you're not happy, you don't have to pay - we just ask that you get off the boat now".

The $10 fee seemed a bit on the high side for what your received from this tour. Of course, if you're visiting Stony Creek, you're probably in the mood for this type of relaxing entertainment, so perhaps it's good value after all.
