Overall Experience: 7 / 10

The Pantheon is an ancient Roman temple instantly recognizable by its huge dome. The dome has a hole in the center allowing sunlight (and occasionally the rain) in.

The temple was later used as a church, and still contains some christian religious statues.

When we visited, the Pantheon closed briefly to tourists to allow a choir to perform inside. While the choir was singing, tourists were still permitted at the back of the Pantheon.

Information

There is no admission fee to enter the Pantheon. If you are just planning to look around, expect to spend between 10-30 minutes looking at the statues and architecture inside, and perhaps another 5-10 minutes outside taking pictures.

The pantheon is conveniently located in the downtown area of old Rome where there are many other interesting attractions and things to see. It is just East of Piazza Navona. The area is somewhat underserved by mass transit, but there are so many other neat things to see nearby you probably won't mind walking anyway.
