Tai & Thai is one of the better Thai restaurants in Hell's Kitchen in NYC. Thai restaurants in New York always seem to be a good deal, but if you're hungry, their 4 course Prix Fixe Dinner is a great deal. We had more than we could eat for $14.95 and with a large selection to choose from. The food was all very good.

Cost

Most Thai restaurants in New York are quite cheap, and this one was no exception. The Prix Fixe dinner was $14.95. Most entrees were about $10 on their own.

Service

The service was prompt.

Reservations

The restaurant is pretty small, but wasn't too busy. We had no problem getting a table early on a Friday evening.

4 Courses - Prix Fixe Dinner

Cost:$14.95

The Prix Fixe dinner includes one of five appetizers, one choice from a variety of soups and salads, and one entree from a variety of curry, wok & stir, noodle, or fried rice dishes. The entrees can be made with Chicken, Beef, Shrimp, Squid, Vegetables & Tofu, or Vegetarian Duck. One of two desserts options is also included.

Green Papaya Salad and Spring Roll

The Green Papaya salad was alright. It's not as good as a mango salad. The papaya is pretty plain tasting. The peanuts gave the salad a nice flavor though. The salad was very large and could have easily been shared. It was just a bit spicy.

The spring roll appetizer was a pretty typical spring roll.

Thai Salad

The Thai salad was a smaller salad of mixed lettuce and a bit of tomato and carrot slices. There were two small piece of tofu and peanut dressing. It was not bad, but not nearly as big as the papaya salad.

Wok & Stir Cashew Nuts with Chicken

The cashew nut chicken stir fry was quite big. It was a little bit spicy and included a small variety of vegetables, cashews and chicken. It came with a side of white rice. The sauce was a bit sweet and quite good.

Red Curry with Chicken

The red curry was spicy. It had a nice combination of vegetables and chicken in a curry sauce. There was a good amount of vegetable and the sauce was very flavorful. The dish also came with a side of white rice.

Fried Ice Cream

This was a delicious dessert. I don't know how you can go wrong with fried ice cream. It was a slightly melting ball of ice cream in the middle of a fried dough. It was great.

Fried Banana

The fried banana was a pretty good dessert too. They were small pieces of banana wrapped inside filo pastry and fried.
