Stand is a burger restaurant and bar located around Union Square in NYC. Their motto is "Stand - The Rare Well-Done Burger Restaurant". Their burgers are quite good, and are reasonably priced. They are also known for their specialty milkshakes.
The restaurant is decorated like an upscale fast-food burger joint. The kitchen is open to the restaurant, with a menu on the wall above it.

Reservations
The restaurant was almost full when we arrived around 7pm on a Friday, but we managed to get a table without waiting.
Items Ordered
Two Sliders
Brioche, beef & ketchup & pickle, chicken & tartar sauce, or turkey & pickled shallot sauceThe sliders were available in three different meats - beef, chicken, or turkey. Each meat came with an associated sauce. Although we ordered two sliders, they had to be the same meat to get the "two for $8" deal. Each slider contained 3oz of meat, and they were served with two slices of pickle, battered and deep fried. The buns were a little burnt, and the burger wasn't cooked well-done as requested. The sliders were a bit plain with little else but burger and bun.
Stand Burger, Fries, and Milkshake
Stand Burger - Specially seasoned beef, red onion, lettuce, tomato, house sauceMilkshake - Toasted Marshmallow
The stand burger was excellent. It was 8oz of deliciousness topped with a little bit of shredded lettuce, a slice of tomato, and a greasy bun. It also came with a lightly spiced ketchup/mayo-like sauce that adds a nice flavor to the burger. Like the sliders, it was served with two slices of fried pickle.
The $5 sweet potato fries were great value - it was a huge serving, and could probably have been shared between three people. The fries were pretty average sweet potato fries, and I was pleased with them.
The toasted marshmallow milkshake was also excellent. It tasted mostly like vanilla, but was a lot "fluffier". It was served with two lightly toasted marshmallows on top.
