Snack Taverna in West Village

Snack Taverna is a small Greek restaurant in the West Village. The entree selection is fairly small but they also have a large selection of small plates. The entrees were a bit unusual Greek items. The restaurant is fairly small and has a small neighborhood feel that is very typical of restaurants in the west village.

I felt the prices were a bit high for the food. Entrees were around $20-$25 while small plates were around $10-$15.

Reservations

They take reservations online. I would recommend making reservations as it's a small place, although we had no trouble getting them on the same day.

Pictured is the small salad. It is a good size for sharing along with other small plates. The only dressing was the olive oil and oregano on top, giving the salad a fresh taste. The feta cheese was delicious.

Stuffed Sweet Red Pepper

Stuffed Sweet Red Pepper

This was a delicious dish overall and quite filling. The sweet pepper was sitting on top of the Greek fava which tasted almost like a creamy mashed potato. The rice in the pepper was full of flavor and also went really well with the mushrooms.
