Slainte is an Irish pub located in the Fells Point area of Baltimore. The area is quite cute, and Slainte had an outdoor table available, so we decided to sit there. The food was a bit disappointing, but not awful. Nothing was quite as good as I was expecting.
There was a nearby air conditioner that kept blowing water on us, but I guess that's to be expected if you're sitting at an outdoor table.
Dress
Very casual
Cost
Entrees ranged from $8 - $20. The cost seemed pretty comparable to other restaurants (pubs) in the area.
Service
It took awhile for them to clean up the outdoor table so we could be seated, but otherwise there was nothing worth mentioning about the service.
Items Ordered
Grilled Salmon
Baby green beans, shallots, smoked sea salt & lemon butter sauceThe salmon was quite plain tasting. It had a bit of flavor from the lemon, but otherwise it just tasted like butter. The geans, too, were only seasoned with butter. There was so much butter on the plate it was a little bit like a soup.
The Slainte Pub Burger
8oz Angus burger, lettuce, tomato & onion on a toasted brioche bun. Toppings for $0.50 each - mushrooms, sauteed onions, swiss cheese, jack & cheddar blend. Irish cheddar: $0.75.The Slainte burger was a pretty average burger. It wasn't quite as flavorful as I was hoping, and the fries were a big disappointment. The potatoes were cut into wedges and lightly fried and salted. Most Irish pubs have delicious fries that I'm guessing are cooked a bit longer than these fries were.
