Seastar is a fish restaurant with two locations in the Seattle area. We visited their location in the South Lake Union area. The restaurant is slightly upscale and their menu mainly revolves around seafood, although they do have a chicken/vegetarian option as well.

Smart casual

Cost

It's a bit of a fancier restaurant, and the prices reflect that. Main courses range from $25-$40.

Items Ordered

Futomaki Tempura

shiitake mushrooms, onion, carrot, cucumber, bell pepper, asparagus, spinach, daikon
Cost:$10

The futomaki tempura was like a piece of vegetarian sushi. There were a bunch of vegetables wrapped in rice and seaweed, then fried. They tasted nice and fresh, and were a great appetizer to share.

Jidori Chicken

herb stuffed chevre, garlic, fingerling potatoes, sun dried tomatoes, spinach
Cost:$25

The chicken (which was quite moist) was stuffed with a salty chevre cheese and was on a bed of spinach and tomato. Despite all the flavor that looks like it should be in this dish, the prevailing taste was salt.

Ancho-Chipotle Grilled Rainbow Trout

tortilla sauce, salsa fresca, sonoma masa cake, avocado puree
Cost:$24

I loved the presentation with this dish! I usually find fish very bland, but this one looked like it had enough spice on it to give it some flavor. I was not disappointed. It tasted like a fish burrito, but served in a high-class way.
