The Santa Croce Basilica in Florence is one of many old churches in Italy. The building houses many works of art from the Renaissance period. The basilica is famous for being the burial place of several famous Italians, including Michelangelo and Galileo. In addition to the main room, a side hall leads you to a leather school where they have some demonstrations, and they sell various leather items. There is also access to a cloister and a small art gallery on the other side of the church.

Visiting

Entrance to the Basilica is €5 for adults. We spent about an hour looking around the Basilica and the various side areas. There is not a lot of information about what there is to see here. An audio guide can be rented for an additional fee, but we did not try it.
