Restaurant Rhodos is a Greek restaurant located in Leiden, not far from the train station. The interior is nicely decorated with a Greek decor. It is a slightly upscale restaurant, but the prices are typical for this area with relatively large portions. The menu was written in English and Dutch, and the staff spoke English as well.

Items Ordered

Moussaka

Traditional ovendish of eggplant, minced meat, potatoes, and bechamel sauce
Cost:€14

The moussaka came on a plate with several sides. There were a few slices of really good fresh fruit. There was a spoonful of coleslaw that was also really good, and a spoonful of delicious Tzatziki sauce made with dill and cucumbers. There was a spoonful of white rice covered in a very good tomato sauce. There was also a side bowl of spiced oven baked potatoes for both dishes we ordered.

The moussaka itself was a large piece that tasted really good. The potato was really nice and creamy. The sauce was very good, although a bit too salty.

Souvlaki Rhodos

Big skewer of pork filet with paprika, onion and feta sauce
Cost:€15

The souvlaki also came with the same sides as the moussaka. The rice with the tomato sauce went particularly well with the souvlaki. The pork was very tasty and well cooked.

Dress

Casual - nice shorts and a t-shirt are fine.

Cost

The prices are pretty good for a nice restaurant in this area. Entrees are €15 - €20.
