The Queens Museum of Art is located in one of the remaining buildings that was built for the World's Fair in 1939. The building is now a museum that contains a mix of modern art and historical artifacts. The main attraction at the museum is The Panorama, built for the 1964 World's Fair and updated in 1992. The Panorama is a scale model of the 5 boroughs of New York City. The model is very detailed and shows every river, hill and building in the city. It is quite large and impressive. The rest of the museum has rotating exhibits.

Visiting

Entrance to the museum is free with a suggested donation of $5 for adults. We spent about an hour at the museum, mostly looking around the Panorama. The easiest way to get there from the city is to take the 7 subway train to Mets-Willets Point.
