The Queen Liliuokalani Gardens are located at the north end of Hilo, near the airport. The gardens are quite nice, Japanese-inspired, and well maintained. They also contain a number of Banyan trees that are always fun to look at.

The gardens contain a number of islands, connected by bridges or stepping stones through the water. The gardens look very pretty, and are a very nice and relaxing place to go for a walk. There are also a number of benches you can sit on to rest. Or, feel free to bring a lunch and enjoy it under one of the trees.

Parking

There are some large free parking lots available on the west side of Lihiwai Street (right next to the park).

Cost

The gardens are free and open to the public.

Estimated Visiting Time

We spent approximately one hour here before heading to the airport for a flight. It was a great way to spend some time and go for a nice walk. There's nothing really to "do" at the park except walk around and enjoy the scenery, so plan your time here accordingly. One hour is plenty of time to walk around and see everything there is to see.
