Pizza Rustica is located at the bottom of an apartment building at the corner of John and Wellington in downtown Toronto. (I hear that you get a discount if you also live in the apartment building). It is a smaller restaurant, with only about four tables (each seating four people), and a small bar that seats about eight.

The interior is nicely decorated, and sports a TV over the bar, and narrow granite tables.

Cost

Salads are between $5-$15
Pizzas range from $10-$15

Dress

The restaurant is fairly casual. Jeans (or even shorts on a hot day) are fine.

Items Ordered

Fragola Salad

Fresh Strawberries, cherry tomatoes & homemade sugar glazed candy pecans, drizzled with our creamy poppy seed dressing over exotic greens and crumbled goat cheese – ten dollars. Add grilled chicken – fourteen dollars
Cost:$10

C: I started off very pleased with this salad. It is presented beautifully. There was an adequate number of strawberries in the salad, and they worked very well with the dressing. The salad is certainly big enough for one person to have as a meal, or can be shared by two or three as an appetizer. After eating some of the salad, I felt that the dressing became too sweet, and it was slightly less enjoyable.

A: It was very good; sweet. The candied pecans weren’t very candied; they were just like regular pecans.

Tradizionale Pizza

Pepperoni, green peppers, forest mushrooms, mozzarella and tomato sauce.
Cost:$12. Whole wheat crust: $2 extra

C: This pizza was ordered with the whole wheat crust for an extra $2. It was a typical pizza on a flat crust. It was 12-inches in diameter, and would have served as an adequate dinner for one person, or shared amongst two people if there were also appetizers. The pizza could have used a greater quantity of toppings.

A: I liked the crust. It was a very dry crust; not greasy at all.
