Paul & Jimmy's is an Italian restaurant located near Gramercy Park in NYC. They're a pretty typical restaurant - nothing about our meal stuck out as being overly good or bad.
The interior is decorated somewhat nicely - there was some exposed brick and a mediterranean mural.

Very casual

The average entree costs around $20.
Items Ordered
Free Bread
The free bread was really good. In addition to some typical white bread and butter, we also received a few pieces of pretty good bruschetta. That was a nice touch.
Melanzane Rollatini
Rolled eggplant stuffed with ricotta and mozzarella and baked in tomato sauceThis eggplant appetizer was quite good. The menu description says it was baked, but it tasted like it was fried. Each battered piece of eggplant was stuffed (or topped) with some good ricotta cheese.
Pollo alla Scarpariello
Small pieces of chicken sauteed with garlic, vinegar, white wine and lemonThis dish was somewhat disappointing. It really was just small pieces of chicken. There were some veggies on the side, but the chicken was quite plain by itself. The sauce didn't offer enough flavor, and it needed some accompaniment. The fried ball of mashed potato was tasty (as they usually are), but was just one small piece.
Gnocchi all Sorrentina
Homemade potato dumplings baked with ricotta and tomato sauceThe gnocchi were presented quite creatively - lots of small balls on a plate, topped with cheese. They were nothing special - they tasted pretty plain. Each ball was lightly coated with a similar batter to the eggplant. They had potential, but they were lacking any real flavor. The cheese on top was very stringy and bland.
