Millennium Park is a beautiful park in downtown Chicago located just north of the Art Institute of Chicago. It is quite a large park, and contains a concert area (Pritzker Pavilion) and large grass field, "The Bean" (Cloud Gate), and the Crown Fountain.

The park is really quite beautiful. It is large, contains a number of trees, bushes, and flowers. All the landscaping is well maintained, and a dedicated staff ensures the park is almost always clean.

Cloud Gate - "The Bean"

The Bean is one of Chicago's most enjoyable monuments. It is a "dynamic" monument - you can view it from all different angles, at all different times of the day, and it looks different. It reflects the beautiful Chicago skyline, and anybody nearby. If you go underneath the bean, you can see many reflected copies of yourself looking down at you - it's quite neat. This is a heavily visited attraction in Chicago, the bean is often quite crowded.

Crown Fountain

Crown Fountain consists of two large pillars, each covered with TV images of faces. The pillars are separated by a shallow pool of water. The faces on the pillars rotate every few minutes, and make different expressions. Every now and then, the faces pucker their lips, and out comes a stream of water! It's quite neat to see.

Cost

This is a public park - there is no admission charge, just walk in!
