The Merit Kabab Palace is an Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi restaurant located just under the 7 train at 74th street in Jackson Heights, Queens.

The restaurant has a bit of a bit of a dirty authentic feel. The food is all out on display so you know what you're getting, but it is kept cold and re-heated in microwaves. The plates and utensils are also paper or plastic.

I would recommend coming here for the samosas and getting them to go, the rest of the food was ok.

Dress

Very casual

Cost

Most items are quite cheap - you can have a meal here for under $10.

Service

Very strange - you can order at the counter, and then try to find a seat. They will bring your order to you. Sometimes you pay at the counter, and sometimes they bring you your receipt after your meal. It seems very unorganized.

Items Ordered

Vegetable Pakora/paleetir, Rice, and Samosas

Cost:$1.99 for the pakora, $6.99 for the rice, and $1 each for the samosas

The samosas from Merit Kabab Palace are some of the best samosas I've ever had. The rice and pakora were just average.

Chana Masala, Chicken Curry, and Mango Lassi

Cost:$4.99 for the Chana Masala, $6.99 for the chicken curry, and $2.99 for the mango lassi

The Chana Masala had a delicious sauce. The chicken curry was disappointing - it didn't have much flavor at all. The mango lassi seemed a bit liquidy, and it didn't quite have enough mango flavor.
