This McDonald's is located in the Ramses Hilton Annex across from the Ramses Hilton. The McDonald's in Egypt offer slightly different options than American McDonald's. They also prepare the food a little differently. It was a bit of an adventure eating here.

Cost

The prices here are less than what you would pay in a North American McDonald's, but more than what you can pay at a local restaurant. Combo's were between 15 - 20 LE.

Dress

It's a McDonald's - anything goes.

Service

Some, but not all of the servers spoke English. The service isn't quite as fast as usual for a McDonald's, and it was a little bit awkward waiting for our food, as we weren't sure where we were supposed to wait.

Items Ordered

McArabia

Cost:17.73 LE

The combo came with fries and a drink. This McArabia was a grilled chicken patty inside a rolled pita with lettuce, onions, tomatoes and garlic mayonnaise sauce. I thought the pita was not a typical pita for Egypt. It tasted pretty doughy. The patty was very thin, and a little bit strange, but tasted OK.

Big Mac

Cost:14.54 LE

This combo also came with fries and a drink. The Big Mac consisted of two small patties in a bun with lettuce, tomatoes, a pickle, and what must have been melted cheese. Rather than ketchup, which is what we're use to, there was a garlic mayonnaise sauce on the burgers. The sauce made it feel a bit like a foreign burger, but otherwise it was what you expect from a McDonald's.
