McCabe's is an Irish Pub in downtown Kitchener. They were a pretty typical Irish-pubed themed American restaurant with a large menu of bar foods at reasonable prices. The food was all average and what you'd expect for an irish pub.

Items Ordered

Irish Loaded Spuds

Our famous crisscross lattice fries smothered in chopped tomatoes and veggies, melted cheese and choice of gravy.
Cost:$10.99

This dish was very large. The fries were in a fun shape that made them both crispy and soft. The tomatoes on top didn't really stay well on the fries and kept falling off. We should probably have poured the gravy sauce on the fries, otherwise they were a bit bland.

Steak and Guinness pie

Tender chunks of beef, potato, peas and carrots in a rich gravy, topped with handmade puff pastry. Served with a side house salad.
Cost:$12.99

This pie was ordered with a Greek salad instead of the house salad. The Greek salad was pretty good with quite a bit of feta cheese on top. The pie was filled with very tender meat and a bit of vegetables. The sauce in the pie was very salty.
