Max Brenner is a restaurant and chocolate store specializing in chocolate. They have locations in a few different countries. Their food selection looked good, but wasn't very large - they specialize in desserts, with various drinks and chocolate concoctions. On this occasion, we visited the location in downtown Herzliyya in Israel.
A majority of the seating at this location is outdoor, which is really nice for most of the year. For the winter, they enclose most of the outdoor area and provide heating.
The restaurant also offers english menus in addition to the standard Hebrew.
Cost
Most desserts were between 20 to 50 NIS ($8-$20).
Dress
Very Casual
Parking
There was a parking lot just outside the restaurant.
Service
The service was as expected. We arrived later in the evening and there wasn't a wait for a table.
Items Ordered
Sharings (tastings for two)
Crunchy chocolate finger, nougat and chocolate chunks crepe, ice cream coated with chocolate, fondue with grilled marshmallows and fresh fruit, milky max cookies, warm chocolate sauce and toffee bananas. We selected the dark chocolate fondue and the white chocolate ice cream. Both those selections were quite good. The dish is quite large and can easily be shared by two or three people. The best parts were the fondue and the crepe, although everything was delicious. The fondue came with a flame for roasting the marshmallows. I thought it was neat how everything was served in the little bowls, the little flask, and the little cup. My only complaint is that I thought it was a little bit expensive. You do get quite a bit of food for the price, but next time I'd probably just order a crepe or fondue, or even both for around the same price as this combo.
