Marble Slab is a chain of ice cream parlors. This location just opened in a new shopping center at Bathurst and Center streets in Thornhill. They offer fresh homemade ice cream mixed with your favorite ingredients. They are very similar to Cold Stone.

This location only had indoor seating at tables when we visited. However, it is quite new and they may yet have outdoor tables. There are also some ledges to sit on outside.

Cost

The ice cream is a bit expensive, but also quite large. Ice cream and a cone with one topping costs $4.95 plus tax.

Dark Chocolate Ice Cream

A mixin includes a specific weight of ice cream (they actually weigh it!) with one topping mashed into the ice cream. The ice cream options are mostly plain, so mixing in a topping makes them interesting.

I ordered dark chocolate ice cream with chocolate chips in a waffle cone. The dark chocolate ice cream was very good. It tasted like a high quality ice cream. The chocolate chips were also made from real chocolate. The waffle cone was also delicious. It tasted quite fresh. My only complaint was that it must have had a small hole in the bottom, because it started leaking before I finished the ice cream.

Although it doesn't look like very much ice cream in the picture, the waffle cone is fairly large, so there is quite a bit of ice cream in there. I would recommend sharing with at least one other person.
