Lucky Strike Lanes

Lucky Strike Bowling is located in the Vaughan Mills Mall in Vaughan, Ontario. It is an "upscale" bowling alley (if there is such a thing). I was quite impressed when I walked in - outside the bowling area, there were pool tables and booths (for people who were ordering food).

The bowling alley itself was set back a bit from the entrance. There was a separate payment desk for the bowling alley. I was quite impressed that bowling shoes weren't required (if they were, they were not enforcing this rule). That was fantastic - it always annoys me how I have to pay money to rent smelly shoes that many other people have worn before me.

The bowling alley was quite high tech - each lane had its own high-definition TV that monitored the scores. There were also large projections of TV channels at the end of each lane. The interface was relatively easy to use, but when things get messed up (which happened just once), we were forced to find some staff and ask for assistance.

Cost

Between $5-$7 per person, per game (depending on the day of the week and the time). Hourly rates are also available for either $45/hour or $65/hour (again, depending on the time of day and the week). The cost is higher than a typical bowling alley, but this place is new, clean, modern, and upscale looking. Its location in a mall may also mean that they are able to charge a higher fee.

Unlike most bowling alleys, Lucky Strike has a dress code! Check their website for complete details, but this includes things like no sweats/sports jerseys, no sleeveless shirts or excessively baggy clothing, and no headgear.
