Local Cafe

Local is a cute little cafe in Soho, NYC. They offer a selection of sandwiches for lunch. Unlike some other cafes in the area, all their sandwiches are made when you order them, so you know they're fresh. The sandwiches are slightly higher quality than normal, and they have some decent choices. They also offer coffee and smoothies.

There were a few small tables inside the restaurant, but it's often busy in there.

Grassfed Meatball Sandwich

The meatball sandwich was definitely the better of the two sandwiches we ordered. The sauce from the meatballs helped soften the bread a bit. The sandwich was served hot and wrapped in tinfoil.

The meatballs were of average quality, and the sandwich was really messy to eat. Still, it was pretty good.

Ham & Fig Sandwich

The ham & fig sandwich was a bit disappointing. There was a decent amount of meat on the sandwich, but there were no vegetables. The figs added a bit of a sweet flavor, but there wasn't enough fig to really improve the sandwich. The cheese was a good quality cheese, but the bread was too hard and crusty to enjoy the sandwich properly. The bread made it difficult to bite into, and when you did, there weren't enough flavor from the ham & fig to be all that satisfying. I think some simple lettuce and tomato would help improve the taste.
