La Goffre is a restaurant/cafe in Kiriyat Hayim. It's located in a relatively busy area - there were a lot of people around when we visited, and the restaurant itself was fairly full.

The service was definitely a bit on the slow side. At each step of the process, we felt that we were waiting longer than we should have been, given how busy the restaurant was, and how many people were working there. It didn't seem like they were very organized.

At the end of the evening, when we received our bill, we noticed there was a 2 NIS per-person "security fee" that was added. There was an old person sitting in front of the store that was probably acting as a security guard, but the 2 NIS fee seemed like a cash grab.

When ordering the belgian waffle, you pick your fruit, sauce, and ice cream flavors. Strawberries weren't available, so our only fruit option was banana. We chose chocolate sauce. Vanilla cookie and belgian chocolate were our two ice cream choices.

The waffle was great! It was nice and crispy, and the hot sauce was like warm nutella, but with dark chocolate.
