Kinsale is an Irish bar and restaurant in downtown Boston. The area seemed pretty dead in the evening, but the restaurant was packed. The main dining room was reserved for a party, so only the bar area was available. We were not told anything about this when we checked in. We were told there was a 10 min wait, and then seated at a bar table with bar stools. They were fairly uncomfortable to sit and eat in. The table was also very small, and the bar area was noisy. In spite of the poor seating arrangement, the food was above average Irish cuisine.

Casual
Cost
Entrees were around $15.
Service
They brought our salad out with our entrees, which made the table even more crowded. There was no cutlery at our table, so we had to ask for it.
Items Ordered
Small Mixed Green Salad
The salad was the only disappointing dish. It was a very simple salad of mixed greens and croutons. There were a couple of bits of cucumber and tomato.
Irish Stout Stew
Beef stew with aromatic vegetables, herbs, seasoning and Irish stout beer. Topped with Colcannon mashed potatoes and puff pastry. The stew was one of the best Irish stews I've had. It was thick and full of flavor. It had a good amount of a variety of vegetables. The potatoes were very creamy and were great for mixing with the stew, as was the puff pastry.
Buffalo Chicken Sandwich
Boneless chicken breast tossed in a spicy sauce atop whole grain Ciabatta bread with lettuce, tomato, and Bermuda onion. Served with Asgard fries and Bleu cheese dressing.I ordered the sandwich with sweet potato fries, which was a good choice. The fries were sprinkled with Parmesan cheese which was a nice touch. The chicken sandwich was pretty typical, with a nice spice.
