King of Falafel & Shawarma Cart

King of Falafel & Shawarma is a food cart in Astoria located at the corner of 30th Street and Broadway, just one block from the N subway train. They serve middle eastern food to go. Unfortunately, we didn't find a nice place to sit and eat nearby and ended up walking 10 minutes to the waterfront to eat at the Socrates Sculpture Garden.

The chicken and rice platter was served with salad, a falafel and your choice of toppings including pickled beets and white sauce. They put way too much white sauce (which was something like Tzatziki sauce) on. I ended up scraping most of it off. The chicken was delicious but greasy. It had lots of flavor and was a bit spicy. The salad was mostly iceberg lettuce with a bit of tomato and the white sauce served as dressing. The falafel was a typical good fried falafel. The platter was delicious and great value for only $6, but I didn't feel like it was very healthy.
