The Intercontinental Boston is a four star hotel located in downtown Boston. The hotel has a very nice large lobby with a couple of restaurants and a bar. The back of the hotel has a small park and boardwalk on the bank of the Four Point Channel. The staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful.

Location

The hotel is just steps away from the South Station train and bus terminal, which can be very convenient. The area around the hotel felt mostly empty because Atlantic Avenue is a large street. The hotel is close to the Financial District which was quite empty on the weekend. It was about a 10 minute walk from the New England Aquarium and about a 15 minute walk from the historic North End or Boston Commons.

The Room

The room had a very nice decor. I thought it offered a bit of extra luxury from the usual. The bedroom had some nice decorative mood lighting. There was also a window into the bathroom that could be opened or closed (probably not ideal for a family). The room also had a flat screen TV. There was high-speed internet available for a fee. The bathroom was really nice and large. There was both a bathtub and a shower.

Cost

Room rates vary but were around $250 per night when we visited. We were able to get 50% off a room through hotwire.com.
