Il Papalino is an Italian restaurant located just outside the Vatican. It's located on a pedestrian street that is packed full of restaurants. All of the restaurants seem very similar, and that probably means they're all for the tourists visiting the nearby Vatican.

Items Ordered

Insalata Caprese

Mozzarella and tomato salad
Cost:€8

The caprese salad was pretty typical. They brought out some olive oil and vinegar with the salad, but another guy took it away less than a minute after they brought it. It was a pretty decent salad.

Tagliatelle "Papalino" (porcini)

Noodles cream mushrooms, green peas parmigiano
Cost:€10

This dish was pasta in a mushroom cream sauce. The cream sauce had a pretty strong mushroom flavor, and was quite good. Unfortunately, it was incredibly salty. The salt overpowered any other flavor.

Filetto di manzo al pepe verde

Filet with green pepper
Cost:€17

Just like the pasta, the primary taste in this dish was salt. The beef was served medium, and was in a very salty yellow sauce. The sauce tasted like mustard, and I didn't enjoy it. The little green peppers were very good, and had a nice spice to them.

Tiramisu and Cappuccino

Cost:€3 for cappuccino and €6 for Tiramisu
We ordered a slice of tiramisu for dessert, along with cappuccinos. Both items were pretty good, but probably not any better than any of the other restaurants in the immediate area.
