Hotel George

Hotel George is a Kimpton Hotel in Washington, DC. It is located very close to Union Station (where all the trains arrive). It's less than a 5-minute walk away. It's hard to get any closer. Hotel George is also located quite close to the U.S. Capitol Building. Unfortunately, that means it's quite far away from attractions such as the Lincoln Memorial.

Nevertheless, Hotel George is a pretty nice hotel of 4-star quality in a good location. The provided toiletries were nice quality. We had a newspaper left outside our door in the morning. The employees were all friendly and helpful. The hotel also housed a classy restaurant.

The Room

Our room was quite spacious with a king bed, a desk, a chair, and a flat screen TV. The bathroom had a marble shower with a glass door and nice marble and granite tiles/counter. Although our room had two windows that provided sufficient light in the room, the view from the windows was of other hotel rooms. It was a bit awkward.

One odd thing I noticed was that many of the items in the room seemed to be on sale. There was a mini bar, but other items (like a bathrobe and some toiletries) also had prices.

Cost

We paid $170/night for the room, but rates vary dramatically. Be sure to check the hotel's website for more accurate rate information during the period you are visiting.
