The Hippodrome of Constantinople used to be a chariot race track in what is now Istanbul, Turkey, but very few of the original fixtures remain. The area is called Sultan Ahmet Square, and is very near the Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. The square is just an open park with no entrance or entrance fee.

The area contains two obelisks, and a pillar constructed to look like three intertwined snakes. There is a tourist information booth at one end of the park, which has free maps (that are really quite excellent). There are some benches around to sit at and enjoy the weather.
