The Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort is a great place to stay if you want to spend your vacation on the beach. The hotel is located right on the main beach boulevard. The four star hotel lives up to its rating. The rooms were fairly clean and had nice amenities.

The hotel had lounge chairs and umbrellas setup on the beach along with free water and towels you could use there. We didn't really make use of it during the day, and they closed it up pretty early in the evening.

The hotel pool was quite large. The pool deck was beautiful with palm trees and it overlooked the ocean. When we arrived in the morning every pool chair was occupied, but not with a person, just with a towel. I thought it was a bit ridiculous that people were reserving the chairs when they weren't there and clearly not in the pool (which was empty). We decided to borrow one of the chairs for the 15 min we were using the pool with the intention of leaving if the person reserving the chair showed up. Someone from the pool staff came and told us the chair was being used by someone else (clearly it wasn't), but they let us use it anyway.

The hotel had two restaurants and a cafe. The cafe also had some grocery items.

The Room

The rooms themselves are quite large. We got a standard room and it had a kitchen that included a stove top, a microwave, a sink, and a fridge. There was a note saying that they could supply various kitchen supplies. All the rooms had a balcony. Our balcony had a beautiful view of the ocean where we could watch the sunrise. The bathroom was large too and included both a Jacuzzi and a shower. Even though the room was large and there was plenty of room for a King sized bed, I thought it was strange that it was only a Queen sized bed (not standard for a 4 star hotel).

We were about half way up and I thought it was fairly quiet in spite of being a busy time of year in the area.

One weird thing is that the water at the hotel was yellow. Very yellow. There was a card saying the yellow water was due to how Fort Lauderdale treats its water, and is normal and safe. It may be "normal" and "safe", but water that yellow is weird!

Cost

Check the hotel website for pricing. We booked this hotel through Hotwire for around $275 per night. In addition to the room cost the internet was an extra charge of around $15 a day.
